Trading away early picks plus paying out the wazoo for a cb that won't be able to guard the top wr for any team in our division. Loomis is not smart. Sign a safety or LB or DE with that money and draft a CB.

I already explained why this is a horrible idea for our team. We NEED someone proven in what may be Brees' last year.

A rookie is like betting your house on black. You could win big or you could be homeless. Do we want to take that gamble in Brees' potential final year?

I sure in the frick don't.

We're past that point. There is nobody left in free agency. There are better options in the draft at the DE, LB, & Safety positions than there are in free agency at this point(TJ McDonald is still available, but he's more of an in the box Safety... ILB Zach Brown is actually still available. I guess he could be an option). Butler is a better option than any CB in the draft...especially for this year.

Unless you think Butler is going to be a bust for us...I really don't see how anyone can have a problem with us trading for him. It's the best possible option we have at this point imo. Do you really trust a rookie CB to perform at a high level for us next year? He would have to be completely ready by week 1. CB is also one of the hardest(if not the hardest) positions to evaluate. Would anyone be surprised if Lattimore(the #1 CB in the draft) ended up being a bust?
