You realize you are never coming close to 1gb right? You are probably never coming close to 100mb or even 50mb at a given time unless you are running a shite ton of devices at once.
HD streams only use about 8-12mb and 4k uses about 25mb.

That's not true, if you are downloading or uploading a large file it makes a big difference. Say you are downloading a Linux distro, you could easily max out a 1gb connection, as I have done it. I have a security camera that benefits from a higher upload than the mere 5mbps or whatever you typically get from a cable company.
I can be streaming 2 4k streams of netflix, downloading an xbox or steam game, listening to music, constantly uploading my security camera feed, and working and not even notice a thing.
