That's the only way this gets done. Saint's are signing him to an offer sheet. Either he signs his tender and gets traded or signs the long term deal and gets traded. It won't happen for #11. This happened a few years ago with Chris Ivory

We had a second round tender on him but traded him for a 4th. He signed his second round tender then got traded for a 4th and signed a new contract with the Jets.

It isn't uncommon in the NFL for this to happen. I don't get why everyone thinks it's going to be different this time

THANK YOU - That's the example I couldn't put my finger on. I knew we were part of an RFA trade for less than tender fairly recently.

Because ESPN is only reporting the offer sheet option, which includes the #11. They are not reporting it as it is going to happen.
