I lived in Albuquerque for three years in the mid fifties. Dad was stationed at Sandia (now Kirtland Air Force Base). Moved to San Diego in 57 and dad retired there after 27 yrs. in the Navy. He was pretty close lipped about what went on at Sandia...although he did say that the alien thing was not a weather balloon.
I went to elementary school in San Diego and we did a lot of duck and cover.
