Next question.
Mone Davis , Nadia Comenico(?) ,Etc....or other young female gymnasts.
Haven't formed a strong opinion on this guy yet ,but why not start the negotiations at a Billion?
If they get a tenth or quarter of a Billion they've succeeded considering all 3 won't make it statistically.

It's a ridiculous figure. And I use ridiculous in the literal sense. You think Nike or Adidas is going to be thrown off by the tactic? ETA: Or the bluff that Lonzo can always fall back on his own brand?

I don't think $1bil is truly the starting point on negotiations.
It's just something outlandish LaVar could say that he knew would keep people talking, which is good for the BBB brand.

Who are the 15 year old athletes that have been as famous as Lamelo?
Nadia Comaneci won a gold medal in 1976 at age 14, she was an INTERNATIONAL star at the time. Regular people like my grandma knew who she was. That's famous. At best outside of basketball junkies there are some kids that have seen some you tube videos that know who LaMelo Ball is. He is not that famous outside of basketball junkies.

For about 3 months ever since Lamelo hit that first half court shot damn near every Chino Hills video on YouTube was viral a ton over millions views and basically all of the rest over 500k be it mixtapes, full game highlights(weren't even a thing until now), breakdowns, reaction videos, or "vine" compilations
lots of people have had you tube videos go "viral" doesn't make them more famous than celebrities or pro athletes

No high school team or athlete has ever gone viral like Lamelo and Chino Hills did this year. Not even in the same stratosphere really.

I'm sure there are plenty. Jennifer Capriati went pro shortly before turning 14 in 1990, this was a big story at the time, she beat Martina Navratalova at Wimbledon at 15 and made the semis in 2 majors, someone else mentioned Freddy Ado. Dylan Moses was on the cover of ESPN the Magazine as an 8th/9th grader. Damon Bailey was in SI in the 80's when Bobby Knight offered him as an 8th grader, which was unheard of back then.
I get that youtube and Vine all that are very popular with kids and # of views are the new Q score and while many "old people" may under rate it's impact, you are grossly over rating it and failing to see beyond your bubble world. Viral views may be bigger than things like ESPN today, but in the 80's-90's the audience for ESPN and SI dwarfed these type of you tube vies, remember total number views includes people watching the same video over and over. Again, I'm not doubting the kids is good, really i have no idea, i also don't doubt that he's known just that he's know within certain circles, name basketball fans, the feature on ESPN this weekend alone does that, but that he's the most famous 15 y/o athlete ever is ridiculous hyperbole even for sites like this and posters like you.

You're actually putting thought into your argument with the guy that thinks Lamelo is easily one of the 10 most popular basketball players amongst teenagers.
