>50%? <50%? <25%?

Any chance Payton and Loomis have it in them to build a team that can put together one final run at a championship before Brees is done?

They don't need to build a team, they need to build a defense. Sadly they haven't done so in 11 offseasons.

If the defense can be OK he'll have a chance

80%. We are building something special if we can strike cold on a pass rusher and a corner

Drew hoisting the Lombardi trophy again as a saint isn't just likely... it's a mathematical certainty. Brees to Snead is the winning td combination on the last play of this coming super bowl over the pats. Drew and Snead then run to the pats sideline and perform their ickey woods' choreographed TD dance in front of cooks. Good times a coming...

The offense is there, Superbowl worthy.
10% chance for the remainder of his tenure. That's actually a decent chance.

5 percent.

About the same chance that we had heading into the 2009 season.

Around 5 percent tops . People keep saying we need to build a defense and our offense is Super Bowl caliber but our offensive skill players (especially ability for rbs to catch and make big plays which was absolutely elite )and to a lesser extent our line aren't at the level of our Super Bowl team or 2011 for that matter. If people are being honest with themselves and watch the games it's pretty damn evident our offense is not as consistent or lethal as it was in our heyday. I think people really get caught up in the total offense/ yardage, it's just not as efficient an offense. Brees is also 8 years older and regardless of his continual high play that still is a factor. Added to all this is we still need to build a defense or at least have a guy who makes a ton of plays similar to how sharper did.

I mean going off our past history its not good.

However, if we draft impact players on defense that can play well from the get go then we have a decent chance.

Look at this years SB matchup in terms of contributing rookies and players in first three years and you get a picture of what our D needs to accomplish.

Slim, but not just because we have holes all over the roster... winning a Superbowl is damned hard and nobody's chances of winning in a given year are ever really that high. Anything can happen and usually does.
