dont wanna sign cooks long term

that has nothing to do with it, he isn't happy and wants to be the only center of attention on offense.

plus its a matter of being able to "afford" his contract next year. he will likely be demanding $12-$15 million a year and then they have to find that money somewhere.

remember jimmy graham? they let several key players so the could find the money to pay jimmy and then he still wasn't happy and was "mailing it in" instead of earning his money so they had to trade him and eat his HUGE contract money

its like DeJaVoux all over again with this cooks situation and at least they seem to have learned their lesson after the jimmy graham thing and want to get out ahead of this.

And you think Malcolm Butler won't demand that kind of money?

Cooks has a team option. It should be just under $9 million....

You mean the same offseason we signed Jarius Byrd and later Junior?

You nailed it again

And where did he say he wanted to be the center of attention?

He made one post about needing to become a business man and people take that to mean so many things it doesn't.

It could just as easily meant he knows he needs to grow up and just do his job as much as it could have meant he was unhappy with no targets for one game.

It was one comment and suddenly he's a problem child that only wants money and can't share the ball.
