Give us an update when you can.

Your crawfish cornbread delights resemble hush puppies, therefore a Wow Wee tartar sauce recommendation seems to be instinctual. Same with butter or a honey butter spread.

But who knows?.....Tell us what worked

Who made your oyster po-boy from the lunch thread a few days ago?

ETA: I think Gris' idea of melted pepper jelly is a great solution for you, Darla.

I wish I had simply "melted" the pepper jelly.

Instead, I followed a recipe that said to whisk Creole mustard and champagne vinegar in with the pepper jelly. I didn't have champagne vinegar, but the recipe also said that apple cider vinegar was an acceptable substitute.

I didn't like it and it all went in the trash, despite my New Year's Resolution to waste less food.

I took the bites to the meeting without sauce and people seemed to enjoy them.

When I make them again (and I will tweak the recipe), I will figure out a good sauce ahead of time.
