If you think that was a beat down of Nye, you are an idiot

all Tucker did was interrupt the answer Nye was giving because he was too stupid to understand it.

It wasn't a beatdown but Nye is clearly not the guy you want proposing the validity of climate change. Dude is so in over his head. Same when he talks about abortion. His knowledge is limited to rudimentary concepts and correlations.

Correlation does not imply causation, which is what Nye was dependent on in the exchange. Tucker was asking, since the science is "settled", how large of an impact man has had on climate change. He proceeds to answer with "Grapes in Italy, rabble rabble, grapes in the UK, rabble rabble, 1700s, rabble rabble".

Hey now, don't you insult this board's new God. Sure Tucker sounded like an idiot, but to PT he's a goddamn genius

He did interrupt him a lot but thats because Nye was trying to ramble while avoiding the only important question.

Its understood that the climate changes and has always fluctuated. But its not known how much its changed from what it ordinarily would ,and to what extent its due to humans. That was Tucker's point that Nye wouldnt address and just blew it off as a dumb question.

Nye wasn't answering anything. He was spouting out talking points that are not verifiable.

That is Tucker's schtick and I am sick of it - have been since his second show when it became apparent he was either just shooting fish in a barrel or over shouting anyone who could come close to competing with him.

That said, I made a point to watch the Nye interview because I hoped it would either entertaining or enlightening. Wrong on both counts. Nye was revealed as a lightweight and Tucker kept his schtick of interrupting and laughing. Both looked weak as rainwater and not a single informative neuron connection was made.

But Nye is a goofball - he has nothing but talking points he doesn't really understand and an air of self-appointed but undeserved superiority. In other words, he is a typical DIMprog - worthless

Nye deserved the beatdown. He went on there and all he did was spout a lot of anecdotal crap and Tucker went after him for specifics.

Ummmm... I am actually a scientist unlike Bill Nye, and Carlson clearly beat him down.

He refused to answer the questions and instead deflected and called anyone questioning his interpretation of the data to be a denier and an idiot.

I believe in climate change, and I believe in much of the research. The fact, however, is that many of the researchers are exaggerating the effects humans have had on climate change and that is exactly why we are where we are in this debate.

It reminds me of the shitty arguments on the pay gap where they intentionally use misleading stats to exaggerate their points.

In that example, the argument is that women are paid less across the board, which is not true. The fact is that women, particularly mothers, are losing salary because of the fact we have unpaid maternity leave and when a child is sick, usually the mother is the one taking off work. Those are actual facts.

That women are actually getting paid less than men across the board for the same work is utterly bullshite, but that is why they will continually lose that argument. They are trying to oversell the issue, just like climate change advocates, and most people are tired of being told the end of the world is near.
