Michael Carter-Williams potentially available?

So, the Bulls need to waive a guard and according to K.C. Johnson one of them could be MCW.
Now, I know he's not a shooter and we've already got Frazier and Jack, I do wonder if he's a guy worth looking into though. He's young and will be restricted this year.
Based on his current stats he could become a poor-man's version of Shaun Livingston.
He's got the length, he's 6'6"/190 whereas Livingston is 6'7"/192. He's already a better three-point shooter than Livingston which isn't saying much. Their PER36 numbers look rather similar. The only thing I don't know about is MCW's defense, but he could be a better version of Frazier that we need with the second unit with his length.
Just a thought.
Crewz, I tried to do a little research before posting so go easy on me

Michael Carter-Williams sucks

It should be a prerequisite that you don't suck as a perimeter player at 3 pt shots to be on the team. They need floor spacing.

He’s only 26….why not?
Couldn’t do any worse could we?

When you think about the characteristics you want in a guard in the modern NBA and especially what this team needs, it's most definitely a serviceable 3pt shot to space the floor. I haven't really gotten the chance to dissect MCW's game because I simply haven't watched him play more than a few games, but his career 24.9% shooting from 3 isn't encouraging. He put up numbers his rookie season with an awful 76ers team, but that level of success hasn't really been sustained elsewhere.
Plus, I believe he will be a RFA this offseason, so if for some reason we did pick him up, I wouldn't want to fork over more than six or seven million in keeping him. Not sure what his market value would be in this new salary cap era, but I wouldn't be surprised by anything.

Great size and athleticism. But has never really put it together since that first year in Philly. Found an interesting article on him from CBS Sports.
Doesn't really describe the type of player we need. And that 24% 3 point average is not very good.
But at this point, do we have better options?

What a mess. It's hard to even blame Hoiberg, as nobody has separated himself as the clear-cut best man for the job. Rondo and Carter-Williams both destroy the Bulls' spacing -- Carter-Williams shot 2-for-12 in the two games leading up to the victory over the Magic -- and Hoiberg doesn't seem to trust Grant to run the offense yet.

MCW and Brandon Jennings for a combined $7MM per year would be so much better than Jrue for $21MM per year. We could afford a legit wing then.

he has to be bottom 5 pg's in the league

What are the thoughts about trying to sign Otto Porter Jr in the off season? He's a RFA and appears to be the wing guy we need. Makes it unlikely we'd be able to sign Jrue though. We'd probably have to get somebody like Darren Collison maybe. Doesn't cure our SG position, but cures our 3-D spacing issue.
