The vast majority of our defense spending is a poor use of resources in my opinion. If we're making a list of shite that is a poor use of resources, a wall on our own border to keep out illegal aliens or violent cartels(which can easily be described as a defense function) is very low on that list.

Rampant poor use of resources is a pretty poor justification for even more of it.
