Wife just left me after 10.5 years. Came home from a work trip to an empty house. No kids
Grandma drained the accounts and flew to France for a month, leaving my grandpa with a note to get his shite out of HER house before she got back.
A year or so later they got back together and are as happy as can be

Oh, I, and I think some others thin, that you had kids and she took them too.
Well, it still sucks royally but the level of pain would be exponential with kids in that equation.
Hope you get your sanity, your answers, and a whole lot of women to ease your pain.

My parents got divorced when I was a teenager.
I dated a bunch starting in high school and up until my late 20's.
Now.. not so much.
I guess the thought of something long term has me flustered.
I use to think it wouldn't make an impact but I guess it has.
Currently.
anyway.

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine. 1 year and 3 months in and he came home to an empty house. A year later they were divorced. She last contacted him maybe 3 months ago and talked about how much she regretted it. They've been divorced for 2.5 years now. They made plans to have dinner and she stood him up. Go figure.

Thanks. Re-reading it I see how it sounds like she took the kids. Glad we never had any.

I don't know about specific years into the marriage, but I'm thinking 35-40 are the peak ages.

The 7 year itch is a fact. I was straight as an arrow in my marriage and I felt it
My marriage came apart after 10 years, her tunning around. She was a cheater before me, I just didn't know the history.
Cheating is very hard to overcome, and it'll probably happen again.
In regards to Easter, she left for another guy. Was already seeing him. U can book it.

Just a heads up, millennials are gonna jack the divorce rate up. One of my friends just got engaged after dating a guy for 3 months
She's already cheated on him

Your shitty friends don't represent an entire generation.

I was speaking of one event. But there are plenty of millenials that think marriage is oppressive or they dive into it with someone they barely know. I'm not saying all of us or even the majority are like that. I'm just saying... don't be surprised if the divorce rate shoots up with this generation.

She had told me she needed to go back to therapy right around Christmas, but otherwise no. I went to DC for work the last week of January and she was texting me the whole time like nothing was going on. The day I came home she texted me, "Glad you come home today, love you." Was fricking texting with me as I was walking to my car at airport parking. Get home, house is empty and she's gone. Won't answer phone or text. Her parents came up and helped her and now they won't talk to me either.
Worst month of my life. Got served papers last Friday a week before my birthday
Dude, that is fekking brutal. How the hell are you dealing with that?

Bingo.

Yea not really. Millennials get married later than any generation so that will help with divorce rate

My observation has been that women who have kids early on will grow resentful around 10yrs afterwards when they're in a difficult routine while their friends are starting to make money and are out having fun
Yes...let's go to the hunting camp every weekend....then park your arse in front of the TV all weekend watching football....then poker night...sleep in hungover and miss your kids little league games...gain 40 lbs and look and smell like shite. Never lift a finger to help give kids baths...help with home work...take out trash or wash dishes....
Shocking that so many women are walking oUT on such a wonderful package. Truth hurts
