Within the first year or two and then again after kids are out of the house?
What's been your experience with friends or your own relationships?

There's no wrong time, just whenever it feels right.

from the first week after the honeymoon till you die.

For you? In about 9 months. You're welcome.

Similar to the times you'd leave your job...
Soon after starting when it's not like you expected.
About 5-10 years in, when it becomes stale.
When there is a significant change in status/benefits.
When a significant opportunity presents itself.

I'm seeing a common scenario at 35-40, where the women are deciding they've had their kids and done the marriage thing, now it is time to go live the Sex and the City lifestyle while their pussy still has some value.

This is why I started this thread. I'm seeing this trend myself and wondering if it was an anamoly in our circle of friends.

This thread touched on a little of it.

From what I've seen, if your woman is working in the corporate world in a big city, your marriage almost doesn't stand a chance with the number of guys circling all the time. Moral to the story is make enough money so the old lady can stay home and pray she doesn't go crazy on you and take everything.

Not sure I agree with that. I think it's an incentives issue.
Among the circles I'm around, the stay at homes tend to be quicker to pull the trigger.
The urban professional type of women who've been married for a while and have a family have more to lose by divorcing.

Very little value. Most females in their 30s, around here anyway, have not taken care of themselves at all. It's like feast or famine. They turn 27-28 and decide, okay it's time to let myself go.

Marriage is really hard in your 30s. Raising a young family strains all aspects of life. Not surprising the divorce rates is high during these years.
