no clue why it's not like that in any other sport, but they need to extend it toward kickers in football.

maybe it's because i was a baseball player and a still a fan that i notice it, but i see this often:

"he's lining up for a 25 yard chip shot. He's perfect on the season from inside 40 yards. and he shanks it off the upright"

Watch the highlights from the end of the Bluegrass Miracle.

The UK players, the announcers and especially the production crew totally jinxed Kentucky.

The players dumped Gatorade on the coach before the final play, announcers were talking as though it was over and a graphic flashed up on the screen showing the score as "Final" right as LSU was snapping the ball.

It's not the only example, but it's one that sticks out in my memory of the sports gods being angered and unleashing their wrath on the offending party.
