Are we in same position as '48 Milwaukee Braves for pitching; "Spahn, Sain & pray for rain"
"Lange, Poche' & pray for rain."
"Lange, Poche' & pray for rain."

Keeping up with the rhyme shouldn't it be: Lange, Poche & pray for a delay.

OK, I've noticed that also.

Well other than that 1st inning Walker didn't do that bad at all. He still struck out like 6 didn't he?.. I think it is more of the fact that Lange and Poche has looked so dominant the past two starts that if the Sunday starter gives up even 2 runs it makes him look bad compared to the other two.

The first two pitchers do make the Sunday starter look worse than what it is. They abesulutly need to get better at the same time though. They will and I like the options we have in case one isn't on that day. Peterson looked pretty good, we haven't seen McKay yet so we have plenty of options and time to figure it all out. I'm sure Maryland was a little ticked I'm sure from last night as well.

Gilbert can slide into the Sunday starter if Walker struggles
Posted on 2/26/17 at 4:14 pm to Jmwtigre
If Gilbert maintains control he can be dominant.

I honestly like what I have seen from Hess better than the two you just mentioned. But I do like Peterson also.

They won the game that all that counts!!

Heck I think collectively all four of them give CPM depth and options....especially looking down the road at tourney/series time. Hope they continue to develop and pitch well.

I think we're better there than last year. ditto on our bullpen. it's hard to tell right now tho. my biggest disappointment is issueing walks; Bush killed himself today giving out 3 in one inning. walks are poison to a reliever.

LSU Natick told you I had old- timers. Fixed.

The actual jingle was "Spahn and Sain and two days of rain."
Mostly four man rotations and three days of rest between starts in those days.

You have to think LSU is going to score a lot of runs on Sunday's so the pitching doesn't need to be as good as they might need to be the first two games.
