I talked to him many times on his radio show in the early 90's. He was always nice.
RIP Alan!
Anyone remember Radio Graffiti?

Alan Colmes passed away this morning after a brief illness. He was 66-years-old. He leaves his adoring and devoted wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley. He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn. He will be missed. The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.

Wow didn't realize he was almost 70. That sucks, he was one of the good democrats. All the conservative folks at Fox loved him.

Rest in peace Mr. Colmes. I didn't agree with him but I respected his willingness to tell his side of the story.
Same here. Used to listen a little bit to his radio show following Rush. Much better at presenting his side then those today.

66. Too young.
I think making it to 66 was a win in this case

Yeah, I always felt like Fox put him there to be a weak tomato can. But, he did an OK job.
Let's not forget that Public Enemy memorialized him on a track.
Incident at 66.6 FM.

Sad. R.I.P. Alan.
Reminds me to get a colonoscopy. How exciting...

There are FAR worse alternatives.

Used to watch H&C all the time.
Didn't agree with Colmes about much ... but, he seemed like a really nice guy.
I am very sad to hear of his passing.
Alan Colmes and Juan Williams ... what I would define as "good liberals" ... if there is such a thing.
Right about now ... I could not care less about Colmes' politics ... may he RIP.

Back in the day, colmes tried his hand at syndicated radio , and was being promoted as the next big thing, the " liberal answer " to rush Limbaugh . It was a huge roll out, and of course, it failed miserably, as liberal syndicated radio does. And back then, a lot was made of him being super- funny, which he just wasn't. What he was, was a pretty boring and agreeable person that just seemed like a normal vanilla liberal guy. And of course hannity dominated him once he came to fox and the left savaged him for not doing a better job refuting hannity, which probably wasn't fair since hannity wins on sheer volume and repetition . He was not a great talent or particularly persuasive . But the tributes pouring out from his colleagues indicate he was a really good human being with compassion and generosity for others. In the end, that is infinitely more important. It's not even close . Rest In Peace Alan. You will be missed.

This is a very good summary, IMO. Nice job.
