Didn't agree with him, but he was the old guard of liberals. He had some common sense. Today's liberals only want to riot, yell, and destroy anyone with a differing viewpoint from them. RIP

He was the one and only lib that I cared to listen to. Low drama - thought provoking.

Very sorry to hear this. Didn't agree with his politics but Alan fought the good fight.

He started his career as a stand-up comic.

More of a classical liberal than today's version.

I didn't say he was a classical liberal.

Fun fact: Colmes was married to uber conservative Monica Crowley's sister Jocelyn.

It was enjoyable to tune in for the banter between the two.

Hannity & Colmes was the last time Fox even gave lip service to being fair and balanced.

You don't know the difference between a news show and an opinion show, do you?

I've noticed over the last year that he had had a minimal role on the program compared to past years. Guess we know now as to why.

That is so sad. His radio show was pretty good. He was quite the liberal fighter on his radio show.

I always thought he was too kind to Hannity and not tough enough, but I guess his gimmick was to be the opposite of Hannity in both politics and demeanor.

Sorry to hear. He was a liberal, but he did his ideology cheerfully, without extremism or too much vitriol. I thought he was a pretty decent person, even though I disagreed with him on most things political.
Same here.

He was at least honest, unlike 99% of liberals today.

Colmes would have been great as a Bob Beckel replacement/ sub on The Five instead of Juan...
