Only issue I have with the piece was it was basically stating "Guns kill people and not people kill people".

I agree 100%. Typical of the liberal media. Guns malfunction, consequence can be freak like (the two girls shot across a street). But people pull the trigger. And they will NEVER hop off of Trump's dick... TRUMP TRAIN!!!

So are they replacing the walker triggers as well? Was just gifted a 1966 model 700.
Link to Remington Trigger Recall
I'm pretty sure I searched the SN on my '95 Model 700 when all this shite broke loose a few yrs back and I was GTG. YMMV

They said: "During the campaign, President Trump called Kim Jong-un a 'maniac.' His language has been much more careful since the latest missile test."

Was going off memory but they still had to get that jab in. I wonder if Trump's language has really changed or if he would still call him a maniac. I bet he would.

I take everything the MSM does with a grain of salt, but why would Remington offer to replace 8m triggers if there was not a major malfunction?
Also, my BIL (who i trust with guns as much as anyone i know) had a round go off in the deer stand while flipping the safety off. His is the Walker trigger though.
Feleciana Tiger has the exact same thing happen as well. So there is obviously a problem.

So obviously there seems to be some problems with the walker trigger too, but no recall on those?

My understanding was the Walker trigger was recalled, and a big part of the reason they created the new trigger. But someone else can correct that if it's incorrect.
Either way....i'm Team Tikka

Never ever have a gun pointed at anyone at anytime, #1 rule of firearms safety, follow it and no matter what goes wrong you won't kill anyone
All four basic rules of firearm safety are redundant. You have to break all of them in order to hurt or kill someone due to a negligent discharge.

Happened to me while sighting it in. I'll never own another Remington rifle.

Good to know. There are a few guys on here that go ape shite crazy every time this topic comes up, solely for the fact that MSNBC and CBS are the ones running with the story...but that doesn't change the validity of the issue.

I need to research and see what trigger is on the 783...no way these dysfunctional triggers are on it, they just started this line I think in 2013.

This is another story of the 700 that CNBC put on a few years back. Remington then followed up with it with their response to it all. Thought that both were pretty interesting. Also goes to show how the media can twist things to make you end up at their desired conclusion.

783 has the Crossfire trigger system. From what I've read, the 783 was built to be the new Marlin Xl7 not a cheaper version of the model 700
