Publicity.

Darth, I know you are old enough to remember the most spectacular failure of a specop

How's that for publicity?

Operation Eagle Claw was lead by Delta but to be fair, they were asked to perform a mission too complex for their mission set. Mechanical issues with aircraft caused an abort

I was just a kid but I do remember it, seeking Chinook wreckage in the desert on the World News.

That mission would have failed no matter which unit was tasked with it. Had they sent in the SEALs it would still have turned out like it did.

And Delta recruits members from the SEAL teams. Yes, Delta is a unit of the US Army and most Delta operators come from the US Army, specifically the 75th Rangers, but Delta is not made up of just soldiers. Basically Delta is made up of the cream of the crop from across the spectrum of the military. Basically if a SEAL shows that even among other SEALs he stands out as an outstanding warfighter and badass, he'll be given the opportunity to join Delta.

So to be honest, things like the SEAL teams and other SpecOps units are like the farm league for Delta.

Even the title "operator" started with Delta. They used that term for decades before other "elite" units copied Delta by adopting the term to use on their own members.

Unless this forum is full of SEALs, SFOD-D members, Rangers, SF bubbas, and the random Force Recon dude...

This entire topic is dumb, and you should feel bad for posting it.

You've made multiple posts. None that make any sense or contribute anything of substance to the conversation, but posts none the less.

Do you feel bad about yourself?

Not really. I just don't get the point of a bunch of folks who aren't in SOCOM arguing over who's the best in SOCOM.

By all means, carry on with your frickery though.

Damn dude, you're really butthurt over that other thread. Let it go. FWIW, the men who fought in WWII were a special breed but the values they were raised under are much different than today's pussy arse everyone gets a trophy mentality. Apples to Oranges.

Oh, and to the OP I would say Delta.

You don't "get the point" of a bunch of folks who are not in SOCOM discussing SOCOM? I guess this means that since you're not actually a college football player you don't ever discuss college football, right? Go ahead and take that crimson script A logo off your profile since you're not a member of the Alabama squad either.

Last time I checked, Alabama's football games weren't classified operations.

Only because the pentagon didn't want the story of U.S. Air Force PERSCO flooding the airwaves and hurting their covert status
