Threatening Texas they they'll take future events from Texas b/c of transgender bathroom law.

Didn't the people help build NBA arenas in each state with their tax dollars?

Is the NBA forcing their ideology on states' rights?

quote:

The NBA has warned that Texas could be overlooked for future events because of a proposed "bathroom bill" targeting transgender people. The Texas legislation is similar to a North Carolina law that prompted the league to move the All-Star Game out of that state. Texas' proposed law would require people to use bathrooms that correspond to the sex on their birth certificate. NBA spokesman Mike Bass said an environment where people are treated "fairly and equally" weighs heavily in deciding host locations. The NBA first made the statement last week, and the NFL has issued similar warnings.

Mark Cuban would be perfectly happy if the NBA did that (which might be the first time he and NBA leadership ever agreed on anything).

Peter Holt (Spurs owner), though, not so much (he's a big GOP supporter and was nominated by Governor Perry to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission).

What "future events" can they pull from Texas? The All-Star game? Who cares?

This is nothing new. Pro teams have threatened cities and states for years threatening to move out of a particular city.

Usually it works and the pro team gets their new arena or stadium.

The NFL and the other leagues are so arrogant because they normally get their way.

Screw em

The NBA should refund the taxpayers payers for the arenas we have built for them and the D-League.

If not, they're more than welcomed to leave the state and miss out on our economic powerhouse markets.

the NBA...the dead weight around ESPN's neck...fricking with Abbott and Patrick isn't a very smart move...but, I guess there isn't anything smart associated with the NBA

The NBA is going to show up to an empty stadium some night if they don't shut down the partisan political activism.
