Anyone been out there this year. My dad is infatuated with the place, so we're going to give them a try tomorrow. I've never done much good there, so would love if anyone has any pointers.

TIA

I always wondered if that area of LA, the oil patch of North LA, just borrowed names of TX oil towns. You've got Vivian and Oil City which are both TX towns. Then you have Rodesssa and Hosston, where they appear to changed/add a couple letters and hope nobody notices.

Stayed in a motel a few years. ACk in Vivian or oil city. Had a Mexican restaurant attached to it.

Oil city used to be booming they said there was so much natural gas being flamed off that it never got dark.

Big giant garhole now

Cool story I know

I was there last weekend. Lake looked pretty good, salvania wasn't too bad. We caught a decent number of fish and had a lot of bites. Nothing special, just a beaver on trees. Most of our bites came on really isolated trees on either side of the island. Just put your head down and fish, you'll catch them out there this weekend.

Fished two tournaments there this year, a few guys had good catches while it seemed like there were a lot of zeros. Both bites were very slow, I'm just not a fan of the place at all, it's just a million cypress trees. I would try to stay on the scattered clumps and single trees.
