Why did Obama cut a bitch boy deal with the #1 sponsor of terrorism?

I can figure out Obama's motivation for everything but this deal. He sent them crates of cash and they have openly laughed at him ever since the deal was inked.
It is one of the more inexplicable things I've ever seen re foreign policy or in general.

We already know he gave them a crap ton of money. Imagine what we don't know that Obama doesn't want to come out. We were left so weak, they captured and humiliated our military. Did Obama pay them more wads of cash to release our guys. What did he promise?

I feel like I'm the only one that's ever read a history book on this board sometimes. Holy frick.
Firstly, the CIA overthrew the democratically elected Iranian gov't in the early 50's. We installed a puppet in the Shah would was a brutal dictator. The Iranians overthrew him in the 70's and went to a Islamic based system. Well, that really chapped our arse so we confiscated and froze all the Iranian assets. The money that Obama "ransomed" back to Iran was their money in the first damn place. WE LITERALLY STOLE IT FROM THEM. Holy fricking, frick. It was their God Damned money.
We funded Saddam Hussein and supported him in the war with Iran. We've surrounded their country with military bases. We destroyed their centrifuges with a crypto virus attack. Is there any wonder why they don't like us?
