Ok so Merryl Streep, as a citizen of Southern California, gets a pass to discuss local politics in her area, but as an American DOESNT get a pass to talk about politics in her country? And this is essentially due solely to the sensitive ears of the redneck snowflakes that frequent this board?

You're right he is not a celebrity. He was just the pitcher that lead the Red Sox to the '04ALCS comeback over the hated Yankees and the '04 World Series championship, that makes him a god in Mass.

Streep hi-jacked some stupid awards ceremony, you know how those actors like everything to be about them? Well, it's no surprise that they have these huge ceremonies where they give awards to each other. So, Streep, thinking that it's all about HER and all about HER dismal ideas, hi-jacks a dismal awards ceremony to bash the POTUS.
She could have and should have wrote a letter to the LA Times editor to express her opinion, but, no. She's a Diva and it MUST be all about HER.
Come to think of it, you share many of her character attributes.
