less funding causes lower quality of education.
That is not supported by evidence. The U.S. spends the most per student than any other country in the world.
quote:

The United States spent more than $11,000 per elementary student in 2010 and more than $12,000 per high school student. When researchers factored in the cost for programs after high school education such as college or vocational training, the United States spent $15,171 on each young person in the system — more than any other nation covered in the report.

But the quality of education results is nowhere near the top in the world.

quote:

U.S. fourth-graders are 11th in the world in math in the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, a separate measure of nations against each other.

U.S. eighth-graders ranked ninth in math, according to those 2011 results.

The Program for International Student Assessment measurement found the United States ranked 31st in math literacy among 15-year-old students and below the international average.

The same 2009 tests found the United States ranked 23rd in science among the same students, but posting an average score.

For an economist you suck at analyzing economic data.....

What DC does is use logic to send money out to areas that need it the most.

No, what DC does is take a bunch of money and distribute what it doesn't squander in a politically prudent fashion. Why not let the states control how funds are distributed without Washington bureaucrats draining a cut. It belongs at the state level, if it belongs in government at all (it doesn't).

The free marked works a lot better. Scholarship funding is usually available to those who can't afford it, but everyone should pay something for school, and we can go ahead and eliminate that one plank of the communist manifesto.

But, let's be real. Nobody wants to address the real issues because the real issues are not PC.

I am an economist because I dont choose and select data that fits an argument.

What nations are covered? Do they have 350 million or equivalent? What are their overall tax brackets? What are the demographics?

Why only select 4th graders?

Why 8th graders?

Who took the survey? What was the method of determining rankings?

Or do you just blatantly look at results and not question the methods?

Ok lets think for a second and say states should own education.

Why should a university from a top tier state accept a 4.0 student from a bottom tier state? Whats the equivalent gpa?? Why should families with kids live in a bottom tier state and not move to a top tier state?

If it was left the states, in 50 years people will try their best to migrate to states with better education (AKA not south and midwest)

Maybe that is a positive thing

And you say students in rural areas don't get as good of a quality education as students in the cities receive.

Are you using yourself as an example of someone from a rural area who didn't get a good quality education?

There is a packet that tells you how to answer standardized tests. These are pretty solved and not an accurate way to distinguish intelligence. Too short term

DeVos is a major hit to the teacher unions. She will minimize the FedGov's influence on our local school systems. The idea of ending the political endocrinization of our youth has liberals terrified.

The best part of this is that her appointment proces that there is nothing the Democrats can do to stop the Trump train.

Now they know how we felt in 2008 when Obama was destroying our nation.

You probably couldn't meet the entrance requirements for LSU based on the utter ignorance you've displayed in this and other threads.

aTm probably had to accept you because you're from Texas.

Seriously, you've revealed yourself as just not being very intelligent.

Standardized testing is probably the biggest ruling out variable in college applications today.

Why would that be any different?

you know what? I am pretty happy that you think LSU wouldnt take me.

I personally do not feel strong about a D tier university either, lets call it mutual.

You continue to make statements unsupported by available data. Yet you claim you're an economist.

What government agency do you work for?
quote:

BATON ROUGE – In U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 edition of Best Colleges, LSU is ranked in the top tier for “Best National Universities” for the eighth straight year and is ranked 62nd overall among public universities.

“LSU has consistently been ranked in the top tier of the best national universities, and our graduates show that LSU is among the nation’s best values in higher education,” said LSU President F. King Alexander. “The real value of a university can be seen in such measures as tuition rates, levels of student indebtedness and career outcomes, and these are the important measures that parents and potential students need when making their college decisions.”

WOW ! Picking on differently-abled school children! Nice!

I guess you can get away with it because you're a Liberal.

nobody believes that, not even people who went to lsu

stats like "graduation rate" has minimal to no impact on quality.
