Okafor defense is a huge red flag.

Jones at least has the athleticism to defend the rim and on perimeter (sort of). Okafor has neither the athleticism nor the smarts/instincts to do much of anything on defense. i don't see how Davis/Okafor work defensively in a small ball league

doesnt mean he can't get better, but they could be giving up a lottery pick for a guy who can't play significant minutes next to Davis. that's a miss for me

ETA- not an egregious one. dumping Ajinca and getting a talent like Okafor on a rookie deal is fine. just not moving the needle big picture for me

honestly, if they're going down this path, see what it will take to get Ibaka. see what it will take to keep him this summer.

Davis/Holiday/Ibaka + whatever they get for 2017 1st on draft night + Hield makes more sense to me. huge payroll, but I'm not writing the checks

Yeah, I don't get why everyone is saying Gentry wouldn't want him, I think it's Erman that wouldn't want him.

Also why I see this as a 2nd unit move. That's helped make Monroe and Kanter viable.

Anyone expecting his rebounding to improve much, it usually doesn't. I wouldn't be aiming any higher than Terrence Jones with better shot selection and worse defense.

First, the pick needs to be lottery protected if all they're taking back is Ajinca. Second, me going along with this is completely contingent on Jones being packaged with one of Tyreke/Galloway/Frazier for a 1st. I'd rather

Okafor + Ajinca or Asik dump + 2017 mid-late 1st

than

Ajinca still on the roster + Jones leave for nothing + 2018 pick intact to be traded later for someone not even on a rookie contract.
