I have ignored the most asinine of conspiracy theories in recent weeks, but someone has to try to bring the loonies back to Earth.

The latest of board theories is that Tony Hull and the Kansas 5 are working together in an attempt to get him a job at LSU. Really? Think about that for a minute. A guy is getting paid six-figs to coach and recruit at a school, and you think he is scheming with recruits to get the gig in Baton Rouge? First of all, I know all of those kids, and not a damn one of them would commit for those reasons. Furthermore, most of their parents are on hand. Can we stop with the foolishness.

This is all an elaborate hoax by China anyway.

Kids want to feel wanted.... they feel like they are priority one for Kansas. Coach Hull is recruiting his butt off. He's been to my area school several times. He is hustling!

I don't know, but I hope O and company are paying attention. If this guy can get kids from NOLA to commit to Kansas(whether or not they stick isn't the point imo), we need that guy on the staff in some capacity.

Imagine what he could do in NOLA with the LSU brand behind him. I mean, this is next level type shite.

I agree with you, we have some very interesting characters on here. They really hate to hear the truth so they downvote if it's unpopular and honest. Very well said Coach Hull is a great person and would never resort to any foolishness like that.

You'll take literally any opportunity to remind people that "you know these kids personally", won't you? Seriously, congratulations.

It's very odd that several high-level players from Louisiana just randomly committed to a God-awful football program halfway across the country that's coming off of stellar 0-12 and 2-10 seasons, which is located in one of the most boring states in the country with sub-par food, women, and entertainment, and has virtually nothing to offer 4 star football players in the short or long term aside from an opportunity to be corn field tractor operators for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the fact that they live in the hotbed of college football right now and there are literally 80+ better options for them across the country anyway.

When you take all of those facts into consideration, what conclusion would you draw? Is it possible that something odd is going on behind the scenes? I'd say that it's a lot more likely than not. Is it Hull? Maybe or maybe not, but at this point I have no problem watching people throw ideas around and I won't consider any of them "conspiracy-ish" until I see a good reason that these kids would commit to fricking Kansas, because thus far there is none. Get off your high horse bud

Stop being naive.

Exhibit A
2017 KU football commits

Exhibit B
2016 KU football commits

So, he landed the 31st rated player for 2017 from LA and that's the only one he landed. And he landed unheralded players from LA in 2016.

In two years, he's landed 4 unheralded prospects from NOLA. In one day, he landed 5 pretty highly ranked players from NOLA, all of which had solid offers on their resume.

It doesn't add up. There's a RB vacancy at LSU. He's a RB coach. That adds up.

If he's such a great recruiter, we would have heard of him before today. Most probably haven't. This is clearly orchestrated, and you're a fool if you don't believe this is to get Hull the job. All these kids you like may be looking at some serious repercussions when this comes out.

I'm not saying it's Hull specifically, but someone is driving this boat. I doubt he's gotten one top 20 LA prospect to visit on a junior day in his 2 years there. They pay for this visit with their own money. But all of a sudden these kids have money to fly to Kansas? A school coming off a 2-10 season? Get out of here.

I think this is where'd I'd start looking at the connections. So, if he's so connected, why couldn't he get anyone from NOLA last year to fly to Kansas for a junior day? The fact that their parents went is even stranger. They not only spent money for their kids to go, but they're flying/driving to Lawrence, KS, staying in a hotel a few nights, spending money on food, etc.

Most of these kids come from pretty poor backgrounds. I'm not saying all do, but I don't see the name Manning behind any of them. Or Beckham. Or Herb Tyler's kid.

I'm willing to be out of the 5 who committed at least 3 come from humble backgrounds. And I doubt they have the disposable income to travel to Kansas for a few nights, particular if they're traveling as a family. It'd make more sense if they went by themselves. That'd only cost one round trip ticket. And they could stay with the players.

Smells like big time bullshite what you're selling.

Also, is this not weird to anyone?

C'mon, kids from La. committing to Kansas? First, it's a basketball school and secondly Kansas will suck again in football and continue to be the dumpster fire they are. Don't care if coach H has La. connections, no way these kids stick.

If coach H brings in a top ten recruiting class for Kansas, he'll have to be the greatest recruiter in college football history (not gonna happen). As far as the LSU job conspiracy is concerned, not believing that either.

Other than Harris & Jason, don't see the others being LSU targets anyway.

Bottom line, Harris & Jason decommit from LSU previously and now commit to Kansas? Maybe they plan on going out for the basketball team.

I don't believe the theory. However, I don't believe these guys will play for Kansa either. Lsu hires a quality coach, recruit them hard, if they want them, they will get them. It's not just lsu. Any major program. They go to Kansas if other major programs do not offer or recruit them.

Wow. I don't even know what to say. You really can't be this naïve. I mean, obviously you are, but it's shocking considering what you do.

The conspiracy theories are because it's fricking KANSAS. They're a laughing stock football program that went winless as recently as two years ago. Hell, their "signature" win last season was over a 7 loss Longhorns team coached by the worst coach in that school's history. There doesn't seem like a logical reason how a team like that is getting kids to fall over one another to commit to them.

Ok, I'll say it...you don't you know these recruits nearly as well as you think. I've always wanted to see 'what Jimmy would say about a player', or 'how does Jimmy feel'. I get that recruiting is fluid, but my gosh man. Every 2 seconds this recruiting cycle you came out with an article adding or dropping people...you're getting as bad, if not worse, than everyone with all your clickbait.

Maybe it's not a conspiracy theory...maybe these kids just fell in love with Lawrence, Kansas. Maybe some of them do sign because they're solid but not great players. Or maybe they do want Hull in BR and Hull wants to be here. You don't really know because it's not like a recruit will tell you. You listen to what recruits tell you, and half the time they're just full of shite because they're teenagers who change their mind.

Tony Hull and the Kansas 5

What if I told you 5 Louisiana Student athletes were in the middle of the biggest recruiting scandal at the University of Kansas not involving the basketball program?

Stay tuned for espn's 30 for 30, Tony Hull and the Kansas 5.

Some of those guys aren't takes at LSU.
Something doesn't look right here. I don't believe in coincidence.
Some of these kids have futures in football and they are going to go to Kansas?
It's their choices, I don't hold that against them, but it just doesn't look right.
Signing day is a year off. Many things will change.
In the end, the kids will put their careers ahead of bullshite talk.
LSU has showed in the past, when they lose a position of need they go OOS and pick it up.

LSU has had two outstanding recruiting classes that will be the nucleus of this team.
Winning will make things right.
