Two basic Paradigms; Rights come from God and are Individual and relative affluence is based (ideally) on earned merit....or Rights come from the Global Community, and relative affluence is *equalized* by philosophical Elitist at the head of the World Community.
Individuals choose to embrace one or the other as a First Principle of their philosophical/moral Worldview. Those two are polar absolutes...with the Religious concept of 'Mercy' being the only form of reconciliation between those absolute opposites.
Wailing and gnashing of teeth on a grand scale, until that (Religious) reconciliation is recognized and adopted as the basis ("chief cornerstone") of World Governance. IMHO.

Or, more succinctly, what is your definition of a right?
