I feel bad for those 5 or so houses already built! I know I'd be pissed

Though the course will be gone, and that's a big thing, the property there is nice.

Can't believe he bought the course thinking it would make money.
He bought it from the previous owner because he got it for literally pennies on the dollar. For what he paid, the course, existing infrastructure, land, etc., it was a no brainer. The place is worth more than he paid for it, open golf course or not.

I've always wanted to play it but usually don't go that far south for golf. How much is it to play on a weekday out there?

No clue, haven't played there on a weekday in a long time

Where did you hear this?
Know someone who got a letter regarding the closure. I think they said Feb 8th is last day open

Exactly, he didn't buy it for the course. It was going away once he bought it. he wanted the property

I agree. He's a smart man he had to know golf courses in general and especially that one don't make a profit. But why dump so much money into those cart party's

Time to cash in on the golf hobby. In 10 years golf won't exist anywhere. It's an old game that isn't economically feasible for golfers or clubs. I just sold my clubs on ebay for pennies on the dollar.

Thank goodness. Perhaps pace of play will quicken now.
