Vincent is an Aggy legacy, his father was a WR for A&M back in the day. They were invited to the Auburn-Aggy game in 2015 and were told an offer would be made. After the loss they followed up by not offering Vincent -- ignoring them during the trip until finally well after the game his position coach met with the two of them. That meeting with DB coach Terry Joseph (who just left for UNC) was so bad and so contentious that Vincent Sr. just fricking left while it was still going.

Chavis, Joseph, and later Rumlin all tried to apologize or mend fences but no dice. Chavis was involved way too late and Rumlin only exacerbated the issue when he finally got involved.
