I lost my son to this. He hit rock bottom and never recovered. I have my own thoughts on this subject. We must focus on prevention and deterrence.. Stopping it from happening in the first place.
ZERO tolerance for the financiers transporters and sellers. Make the penalties so high they will think twice. Open these people to civil suits where everything they have can be taken away from them and given as restitution to the injured parties. Increase the penalties , including death for the major players and carry out the sentences.
Shut down the border and use whatever force is necessary to stop the cartels. Including the US Military. Wipe them OUT. We have the power, all that is needed is the will.
To those that do become addicts, do what we can to save them. But the best course is for it never to happen in the first place.
