Do you really think that black people knew slavery would one day end? You think they had premonitions of freedom? There were black slave mothers who killed their infant children so they wouldn't have to go through the awfulness of slavery, you jackass. They had no hope, they had no dreams. I could make a very sensible argument that slaves in America hoped to be free. And dreamed of one day being out of bondage. I think that's a reasonable emotion.
Of course, assigning any sensible emotion to blacks in America is difficult. For the most part, they defy logic and explanation.
