if it's a solid, strong, entertaining team, what's wrong w/ internal improvement? what was Memphis saying in 2009?

I have no problem with aiming for a Memphis style run, but Holiday and Hield will need to kick it up a notch to get them there.

But the problem is they don't necessarily get to bank that money for later if they don't spend it. If the only thing that happens with the roster is Tyreke walks you only have $7.5 million in cap space. You might be better off with the $8.4 million MLE.

Is choosing one of DMo/Jones with cap space and signing someone like Lance with the Room exception better than DMo/Jones with the MLE and resigning Tyreke with Bird Rights? Maybe, I guess it depends on how mismatched Tyreke and Gentry actually are. I think there's a lot of echo chamber effect in just how bad things between Tyreke and the team are. The main source of this was the very open but civil disagreement with the coach over the system and "inside info" suggesting the team is done with him.

no dispute. they also need to hit on their picks and find depth in FA.

not easy, but there is no realistic alternative to improvement unless they are ready to move Davis. tanking is not an option unless Davis goes down and no one should be pulling for that

sure. not against bringing Evans back or paying Holiday.

more this idea that you sign them to be trade chips. it reeks of "look how smart a gm i am." remind me how Gordon or Ajinca or Anderson worked out on that front... a potential trade is a benefit, not a target. the target is finding guys you think will thrive in your system and help build a winner.

if you don't really want Evans (even at MLE) or Holiday at $20M+, then move them now or don't re-sign. better off w/o "core" players you don't believe in.

I haven't been following closely (beyond watching the games and occasionally making my way to the SKC), but I don't understand why Tyreke is considered persona non grata among some Pels fans and apparently the coach.

IMO, he should have been the guy handling the ball on that final possession. He's the only consistent threat to get to the rim, he can pull up, can shoot from outside (albeit no better than average), and can distribute.

When Jrue was injured last year (or was it 14-15?) and Tyreke played point he did a pretty damn good job.

He still shows flashes as a passer when he drives.

It seemed to me that the Pels best chance of winning that last game was to have Reke instead of Holiday and Hill (or Moore - whichever one it was) handling the ball those final two possessions.

If I'm missing something as to why he shouldn't have been tasked with making that play, please fill me in.
