Can you explain this? I got my lifetime a year ago, and there's no place on my license to put a sticker or something updating my license when I take a class every 5 years.

ETA: I'm a vet and didn't have to take the initial class bc of small arms training on my dd214. Also, at the time, it was half price for me.

Not sure how this works -- I don't know anyone who opted for the five year permit.

I do know that you'll have to take a class every 5 years. PLUS, the regular five year permit exempts you from the NICS background check, but the lifetime permit does not.(Which is why very few people opt for the lifetime permit).

You can call the concealed handgun unit at State Police (225-925-GUNS) and I'm sure they can tell you how they document the "renewal" training.
