We use Spiceworks in the office and I can confirm it will track servers/networking equip/printers
It's reporting agent is quite good and can even tell you the toner levels on your printers in one clean dashboard.
As far a IoT assets, you can add them in the inventory and potentially ping them but obviously can't do much else.
You could also use The Dude to ping IoT assets and be alerted when they go down.
