This 4th quarter was amazing, but the first half sucked, and bama'a offense was atrocious minus about 4 plays.

USC UT was on the longhorn network earlier, so having watched both today, it isn't even close. I'll agree with this second half/ ending being really fun to watch though. First half was boring to watch

Texas. 2016 Bama had a bad offense sheltered by a great defense. It's the reason they lost.

USC v Texas had several of the most unique all-time greats college football has ever seen. This doesn't even compare.

Part of the mystique of that games greatness is that it was hyped as the greatest matchup of all time and it exceeded the hype.

USC Texas had two Heisman winners in the same backfield and the other potential winner on the opposite end.

And it was a 3 point game.

USC / Texas. I'm trying not to be get off my lawnish here but college football was bigger in past decades. Miami Penn State Fiesta Bowl, Miami Nebraska Orange Bowl, Miami Ohio State Fiesta Bowl were all better as well. The U was the best.

UT/USC. Better game from start to finish, better hype, better teams (IMO), better atmosphere, and more dramatic ending.

USC had the 30-something game winning streak going and were the defending national champions. UT had a 20-something game winning streak and were the defending Rose Bowl champions. They were the clear Nos. 1 and 2 all season. It just couldn't have been written any better.

Much better back-and-forth action. I greatly admire what Saban's accomplished at Bama but by design his gameplans just don't really lend themselves to exciting games. UT and USC had tons of flash to go with their insane talent.

It seemed pretty clear that Clemson was gonna score in some fashion at the end, especially after the DPI, and they drew up a relatively easy play to score. UT's go-ahead score was far less of a sure thing. 4th down is pretty much do or die for UT, and USC broke the play down before VY won it himself.

Props to Clemson for that onside kick though. Talk about balls.

This. It took Bo Scarborough getting taken out of the game and Bama's offense going 0 for forever on 3rd down,
(which finally wore down Bama's D) to make this a game.

Clemson really executed well in the 2nd half on offense, and all of those things made that part of the game fun to watch.

It's actually kind of funny that nobody remembers, but the first half of USC Texas was really sloppy, and not good football by any stretch of the imagination.

Although I suppose it could be argued that a sloppy first half in which USC could move the ball but turned it over in the RZ twice was better than watching 2 teams that couldn't move the ball at all.

It was, but you had lots of bizarre plays thrown in there like the Reggie lateral and Vince pitching a TD with his knee on the ground

Last night was great but not as epic as 2006. That SC team's sack had been sucked raw by the media for over 2 years. Leinart postgame still makes me LOL
