What candidates are left besides Tenuta?

I'm also counting Peveto/Mallory.

Buddy Ryan and Jerry Glanville. You would either have to wheel Buddy to the sideline or put up with a huge purple/gold beltbuckle.

I'm really surprised we didn't pick up Tenuta. I thought he would be a perfect fit. He has experience and if he really wanted to make a name as a guy who coach a great D LSU offers more talent than just about anywhere else. He could easily use LSU as a stepping stone to a HC job. Not sure if many other schools offer that same exposure right now.

I've read some various stuff on websites/message boards and heard some stuff on talk radio shows about Tenuta.....supposedly he is kind of difficult and has a hard time getting along with folks....he supposedly doesn't like to recruit and may never get a head coaching job because of his personality.
About a week or so ago(maybe a little longer than that)I thought it was going to be Tenuta, but the more I read and hear the more I think it won't be. If Les is worried about him changing the offense and eventually screwing up the chemistry on the coaching staff, I understand. I'm not saying Mallory and Peveto as co-coordinators is the answer, but I'm not sure Tenuta is either.
So, if hires Mallory or Mallory/Peveto, I'll him/them a chance.

If this is true that would be a big red flag. Like you said Rocket the chemistry is there so why mess with it.

You have to wonder why no one has tryed to hire Tenuta away from Ga Tech the past few years.
I'm going to start a Karl Dunbar/Mallory co-coordinator rumor.

I don't think Bo ever had the hard to work with label

what I heard is that dunbar doesn't get along with miles because in dunbar's opinion miles gave him an assisstant head coach label due mainly to the fact that he was black so he could recruit black athletes.
Karl can obviously coach since he has an NFL position, and if he is a good recruiter that seems like a good reason to promote him. Don't really understand it, but that's the story I heard from someone "in the know".

Not that that dissimilar from Bo.
Doesn't like to recruit, check
Bad Personality, check
May never get a HC job, check(I heard many people say this before he go the Nebraska job)
The only thing different is the hard to work with label.

the other coaches got along with pelini and his players loved him, and pelini was mentioned for at least 3 other head coaching jobs b4 nebraska, tenuta has been mentioned for 1, the reason dunbar got the label assistant head coach is likely cause he was the highest paid assistant who wasn't a coordinator...much like porter. he is our recruiting ace so we give him a title and good money and like doc holliday formerly at florida, he coached safeties but was a recruiting ace so hence he was an asst. head coach and get paid well. whoever said it had anything to do with recruiting black athletes is likely an idiot or racist who really wouldnt seem to be in the know cuz im pretty sure all our coaches recruit black athletes and not all of them are asst. head coaches. the accepted story was dunbar and pelini disagreed and dunbar wanted to be at a place with an indoor arena for his skin

Dunbar wanted more say in the defense, & pelini ruled it with an iron fist (remember him chewing Lane's arse on tv??) - that is the most consistent story I read and am told. Miles of course sided with his defensive coordinator who was putting out top defenses.
Dunbar worked with Miles at OSU, they are on friendly terms and he wouldn't have come back had he not gotten along with him to begin with.

So the problem was between Pelini and Dunbar, unless Dunbar has heartburn at Miles for not sticking up for him. Which of course no one seems to no for sure.
Don't know about you but I'd much prefer Dunbar/Mallory combo to a Pevito/Mallory combo.

So i know some people seem to think Pevito didn't do a great job with the special teams this year... but what makes you think that he's lacking what it takes to be a co-d coordinator?

I just like Dunbar's experience in the NFL.
