You are really invested in trying to convince this board how DE isn't the answer at qb.

It's odd.
Seems like it's personal with you

Why can't I simply have an opinion? As I fan, I am entitled to an opinion on how I'd like to see the offense function. Just as some people are very pleased with where we are, why can't I simply view it differently without it being personal? There are just as man posters here, that go out of their way to bolster the idea that we merely need "competent" play. What's personal about believing that we need better than that? It's football. A discussion board. There nothing "odd" about looking at the video posted, and seeing what I see.

I'm with you on that. Florida ST would have been merely a good team instead of a NC without Winston. Same with Clemson with DeSean Watson. While you can win big with merely a pretty good QB, a really good to great one would make it a whole lot more likely. Hopefully we get that with either Narcisse or Brennon. At least they seem to have more potential coming in than what we have had lately (other than maybe Harris)

You are basing that premise on:

A) an undersized qb that has never taken a meaningful college football snap
B) players that have already been passed up on depth chart

That's why it seems personal.

Etling isn't a 5 star recruit that's gonna make millions in the NFL.
We don't have one of those on the roster currently.
Luckily for LSU that's not what we need.
If Etling makes the improvements that WE ALL expect ALL players to make from their 1st year starting to their 2nd year, then there's Absolutley no reason why his performance and production won't be more than enough to give this team every chance to win every game next year.

You can't argue with that.
If you do, that's why it appears like its personal or you have some sort of agenda driven narrative.

That's as plain as I can put it to you.
