MSY can handle any size jet. And there are plenty busier airports that only have two runways. The main issue currently is that you can't have simultaneous takeoffs and/or landings.

I've heard from several pilots that MSY struggles with wide-body aircraft. They can handle one or two, but to handle larger numbers would be an issue.
As far as simultaneous takeoffs and landings, is that an issue of just two runways, or is it the fact that the two are perpendicular? In either event, wouldn't a third runway that was truly seperate help out here?
