If you know anything about Louisiana politics you know they don't think past their current term. We are very inefficient with tax revenue... gotta spend it, even if frivolously, before your term is up so you can grease the hands of the voters via kickbacks.

There has been talk of a new airport for decades. Get out of here with the same old kick back bullshite. MSY is a dump and inefficient with NOLA becoming a tourist hub a new airport is needed.

While true, just a point of clarification. The project is bonded out and paid for by the airlines and landing fees/gate leases.
