Question about the new MSY

So are they replacing all the parking garages and the rental car facility?
Literally hundreds of millions dumped into those things and the rental car facility is very new.
I still think its dumb this is being built. A centralized security area could have been made in the old airport then connect Concources B-D somehow.
But Mitch's buddies will make millions off this new airport, we all know thats whats going on here

I'd assume they'd be keeping the rental car facility and maybe add a shuttle to get to/from it. Don't know about the existing parking garages but I'd assume they'd keep them for additional parking. Also they are keeping one of the buildings for private fights.

I was just at MSY today and noticed all the construction. Are they demolishing the old one? Doesn't seem like anything is wrong with it honestly. The traffic design around the airport is the worst I've ever seen though, am I the only one to think that?

Airport needs a better customs system. MSY is extremely outdated and with a newer airport new more airlines will be willing to serve NOLA.
New rental car place was built (along with the other renovations) for the Super Bowl a few years ago. They should be able to use a shuttle system from new airport to rental car place.

They're keeping the rental car facility, parking garages, and D terminal for charter services.
Shuttle will be used between airport and rental car facility and the garages for long term parking.

If you know anything about Louisiana politics you know they don't think past their current term. We are very inefficient with tax revenue... gotta spend it, even if frivolously, before your term is up so you can grease the hands of the voters via kickbacks.
