and what about a non-designated coach actively coaching players on teh sidelines?

Bama has been abusing staff limits for years and having extra on field coaches. It's how their assistant coaches have so much more time to recruit. They don't have to be at practice nearly as much. Burton burns spends more time in Louisiana than he does in Alabama throughout the year.

"Coaching".

He can be on the sideline with the rest of the team.
