That is great that they are a country of freedom in the Middle East. How does that justify the US giving them money? So if you are a free country you get money. Iceland is a beacon of peace in the middle of the Atlantic let's give them money.

We give aid to a lot of countries to help promote democracy. USAID isn't a charity.
