Why did Trump have to take a shot at the players in the Army-Navy game?

"I mean, I don't know if it's necessarily the best football...."

Why can't he say nice things?

Also...
Just not saying anything about the level of play is NOT the same as giving out juice and orange slices to kids playing soccer.

Because it's true and moderately funny. Don't be such a bitch.

Because he speaks the truth...?

He didn't grow up in the "everyone gets a trophy" generation...

He is nothing but a big supporter of the Coast Guard football program so what do you expect?

What did he say that was wrong?

It isn't the best football. It is the meaning behind the game that makes it a great game.

Because he's a narcissistic prick?

Sadly, it's the characteristic most Americans find most endearing.

The Russians made him say that. Specifically, KGB operatives.

Anyone who watched the first half knew what he meant. Multiple turnovers and very sloppy play. It wasn't great football.

The 2nd half, though, was pretty good.

Did you watch the game? There were about 15 fumbles between the two teams.

It is, after all, still a football game, and can be commented on as such. Give reverence where due and levity where appropriate.

He didn't belittle the sacrifice they make.

Because they're soldiers and sailors. They understand and know they're not the best football players.

Why do you people insist on equality in every facet? That's not the way the real world works.

The problem you people have is, "All men are created equal." The part you forget to that adage is "...and then they are born."

I promise you, not a single player in the Corp or the Midshipmen got their feelings hurt by what Trump said. In fact, they are more than likely inspired to play better in future games.

You're too sensitive. But I get it, if it wasn't the Army-Navy football comment it would be something else.

Because most mature adults don't need to hear nice things, They need to hear the truth.

Now hopefully if this is the best you can whine about, we're finally coming to the end to this horse shite.

I love this thread OP. It really emphasizes what cry babys liberals are and how they cant recognize truth, put too much emphasis on pc, and just over all little beta bitches.

As far as the thread topic is concerned:

Trump says dumb shite all the time. This is nothing new.

He shouldn't have said it wasn't good quality football, as there was no reason to drop that subtle shot in the middle of the effusive praise he was giving servicemen.

That being said, it's ridiculous and nitpicking of the highest order to use those comments as an indictment of his feelings for servicemen. No would would allege, based on his anything he's said or done over the past 2 years, that he has negative feelings about servicemen or their abilities. So why do these comments even matter, if not to find yet another reason to aimlessly nitpick?

Also, the quote was: "I just love the armed forces. Love the folks. The spirit is so incredible, I mean, I don’t know if it’s necessarily the best football, but it’s very good. But boy do they have spirit, more than anybody, it’s beautiful"
