I don't understand why people invest money in that ugly shite and then they use ugly MDF 3 1/2 basic trim in their house. I think there's something to be said for nice trim with colonial style wainscoting and chair railing. Elements like that are timeless vs glass tile backsplash.

I think anything done with true to period architectural detailing will always be timeless. The problem is getting these details right is usually limited to the higher end homes. Important to some, but not all.
