I learned today that this haircut is racist.

I never heard the term fashy haircut, until I was reading the NYT this morning, An Alt-Right Makeover.
Further due diligence pointed out that other periodicals had explored the haircut's association with naziism and white supremacy.
Does this haircut make me look like a Nazi?
High and Tight Haircut has a serious Neo-Nazi Problem. Hipster? Or Hitler?
Be warned, I guess. Your haircut may label you as a neo-nazi.

As if to clarify matters, members of the alt-right movement gathered in Washington about two weeks after Mr. Trump’s election for a conference sponsored by the National Policy Institute, an organization that describes itself as being “dedicated to the heritage, identity and future of people of European descent.” Its president, Richard B. Spencer, 38, is a prominent alt-right leader who wears his brown hair in an undercut style once popular among the Hitler Youth. It’s called a “fashy,” as in fascist.

We need to talk about a haircut. Also about identity, and hatred, and maybe about the total end of American civilization — but first about a haircut.
You have seen it. It is short on the sides and long on the top. It is clean and tidy, with a military sheen. It’s been popular among young people for several years. But now this haircut is making us ask ourselves, with seriousness that seems unthinkable in 2016: hipster or Nazi?
Young city-dwelling men leaving their SoulCycle classes in leftover “I’m With Her” T-shirts.
Young white-nationalism enthusiasts leaving a recent conference in Washington, D.C., where several of them performed a Nazi salute.
The same haircut. The exact same haircut.
In the 1930s, Nazis distinguished themselves by wearing swastikas, an easily identifiable marker that made their odious politics clear. The only defining look of today’s white nationalists — a movement that seeks to form a whites-only state — is the haircut, so popular that the leader of one nationalist group tweets under the handle “Fashy Haircut,” short for “fascist.” And there’s nothing inherently wrong with the haircut — as noted, lots of other guys are wearing it these days, too. But that’s what makes it scary.

You've probably seen it for a while now. Statistically speaking, there's a good chance you're even wearing it. The high-and-tight. The side-fade. The haircut that is has been colloquially referred to, as a recent article in The Washington Post pointed out, as the "Hitler Youth." Sadly, though, the colloquial moniker—once used jokingly—is starting to ring a little too true lately.
Promoters of white nationalism have recently made an effort to reclaim the haircut, in part due to its historical connection to Hitler's Germany. According to the Post article, it's now even being referred to as a "fashy," short for "fascist." (Supes cute, you racist fricks.) Needless to say, for hipsters who have long sported the 'do, it's a troubling turn of events.

I'd argue the popularity of this haircut can be traced back to David Beckham and his rise to prominence. Lots of soccer stars have versions of this.

It's not the haircut that's racist, it's the white person the hair is on.

I didn't realize there were so many liberal, hipster fascists.

Same exact haircut I have

Coincidently I am getting a haircut tomorrow. Might as well go full white supremacist since I am a white male in the South and will be assumed to be racist no matter what.

I'd rather be associated with racists than kid frickers.

NYT, what a waste of just about everything but reason. That they have a massive deficit of.

I myself wear this haircut. Also, I see a lot of hipster looking liberal types rock it.
This is fascism for them trying to tell me what haircut I can and can't wear in a country. If I wear my hair long is that sexist?

I don't trim it that short on the sides, but it's a similar enough haircut. Does it make it semi-racist?

How about if you are balding, but let your hair grow long in the back so you can have a mini pony tail?

So is Marco Reus the new alt-right poster boy since he basically was the first to sport it?
