He & Les recruited the roster. Ensminger hasn't called plays since the 90'start & set records with the same roster. It's about play selection

Just because they recruited the roster doesn't mean they game planned to it's strengths. Saban has said that Kiffin is great at being able to play to the strengths of their players. And they recruited that roster. Not even Bama gets the perfect players for a single, particular system every year. You have to be able to adapt to your players.

So they recruited dual threat spread quarterbacks and stuck them in a pro style offense. That makes it worse.

it's a LOT more than play selection. but I will agree that Ensminger changed up the play selection and, for the most part, was extremely successful with it. esp with the opponents that had WEAKER front 7's. it also worked well against Florida.

however, the "play selection" did not work against bama. it would have taken a different offense style to score on that D. granted, Etling looked scared in that game and our OL were overwhelmed.
