I guess that's lower middle to me. You aren't poor, but you aren't comfortable at all.

$12/hr is middle class? That's all you have to make if both parents are working and making a combined 50k.

I mean that's what the true "middle class" is. If your household income is more in the $75-$100k range, you're in the "upper class" of income earners. That's just what the data shows. A lot more people live paycheck to paycheck than most would believe.
