to be fair as a rockets fan for us to win at sacramento, golden state, portland, and denver on 1 road trip was something i dont think ive ever seen. We always struggle on the west coast road trips and to go out there and win all of them except the utah game was damn impressive. I still dont think d'antoni ball wins in the playoffs especially when the warriors super team exists but we've been fun to watch and way better than I expected. I dont know how I feel about D-Mo bc we have great chemistry now and he may mess it up but gordon, harrell, dekker have been a helluva bench this year.
Either way I dont know much about strength of schedules thus far but the rockets have won alot of games I never thought they'd win recently. Hell even boston last night we were down 8 with 3 minutes to go. They've overachieved and I hope they can keep it up. Westbook has plenty of talent around him: Enes Kanter ,Steven Adams,Victor Oladipo, and Domatas Sabonis were all lottery picks and i think kanter and oladipo both went #2 overall if im not mistaken. OKC has more raw talent you could say than houston who boasts harden and 2 2nd round picks in beverley and ariza starting alongside 2 more guys in ryno and capela who were not lottery picks.
so please stop the okc has less talent thing, they have more and james is still doing big things vs good teams.

Whatever you do don't use an estimate In a thread or he'll jump in to correct you if you are off by less than one rebound

Hey, I'm not the one who has been making the "OKC has terrible talent" argument.

The 5 guys, outside of Capella and Nene, that play the most with Harden, are all shooting better than 38% from 3 this year.
I don't want to hear Harden is doing it with a crap cast of players. Doesnt' matter if some people can't name, Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, Clint Capella, Nene, Patrick Beverly, Sam Dekkar, or Corey Brewer. If you switch Harden and Westbrook's teams, their performance and records wouldn't be all that different if any. Put either of them with the shite AD has and they'd be leading the league in scoring and have a shitty record. Outside of Jrue, the rest of the Pelicans players are lucky to even be on a NBA roster. Not a single one of them would play any significant minutes for the Rockets or Thunder.
AD is literally playing with a D-league team and has one of the worst coaches in the NBA. He's leading the league in points and blocks, 6th in rebounds, 12th in steals, and 1st in PER, which is hovering around top 10 all time at the moment.
No he doesn't deserve the MVP right now, that is Westbrook by a mile, but if manages to get this team to the playoffs, then he should be a clear cut 2nd, assuming Westbrook keeps it up, if not first.
Harden is having a great season, and definitely deserves MVP consideration.
It should be Westbrook by a mile, Harden, AD, then Durant right now.

Where a player is drafted does not dictate his talent. How talented is Anthony Bennett?

Kanter is an immense offensive talent, defense is another story. Steven Adams I would take over capela any day, Sabonis is a rookie and a very good player, and oladipo I would take over anything on the rockets right now outside of harden.
How can you say OKC isn't more "talented" than the rockets.

PLease GTFO outta here with any Davis talk. He's a stat padding loser at the NBA level.

Hey so is Anderson.

Capela has better numbers this year,

Dekker is better.

Yes but then HOU has both Gordon and Ariza who >> than anyone OKC has on the perimeter after Oladipo.

Performance and talent aren't the same.

So leading the league in scoring and putting up a historically high PER is being a loser?
I didnt' say he should win it dipshit. But to not put him in the conversation is a bit retarded.

ok there is no need for that. You are not stat padding when you are the only reason your team is even close during the game.
I do not think Durant should even be in the conversation about MVP. You put Harden, Westbrook or AD on the Warriors and they would do pretty good as well.
If Westbrook stops averaging a triple double you will see other players emerge as MVP candidates.

He belongs nowhere in the conversation.

quote:No, but they are intrinsically linked, and NBA teams typically draft based on talent. Of course other factors (work-ethic, motivation, specific skills) are also important too, but raw talent is going to be a powerful predictor.

There are massive differences in talent in each draft class. So saying something like Oladipo is the number 2 pick doesn't necessarily mean he is more "talented" than someone who was drafted later a different year.

No problem, I'm a big dum-dum.

I agree I was saying you should not be calling him a stat padding loser
