Do you ever eat at La Madeleine and NOT order their tomato basil soup?

We went this afternoon and that soup was damn tasty on a cold and rainy day here in Houston. The place was packed and nearly every table had a bowl of this soup.

Admittedly (and probably obviously) we don't eat there that often...is this one of their staple menu items?

I've never eaten it there bc I like the pot pie, but I've bought it. After some dental surgery, the dentist gave a jar as a party favor. Nice touch when you're on soft foods. It's great for a quick fix when you're puny.

I went there for the first time last Friday and got the French Dip as Friday was my cheat day on my diet. I can't express enough how much I enjoyed this sandwich. It was the best Sandwich I've eaten in quite a long time.

I can't speak for the tomato basil, but will damn sure he back and try it soon.

Went once. Seemed really overrated and it wasn't what I expected at all.

But no I didn't get the soup.

I used to work near one and I loved getting their potato soup with bacon and cheese on cold days.

I ordered soup pretty much everytime I went there

Use to go a lot in college. The tomato basil is really good but the potato soup is the money item there.

We've always loved La Madeleine and find their food much tastier than the trendy Panera Bread place. My go-to is the turkey bistro sandwich with a cup of potato soup.

My wife, her mother, and her grandparents eat breakfast there every week. I prefer lunch and the half and half. I haven't looked in a while, but Rouses used to carry jars of tomato basil soup (like sold in restaurant).

Had an ex who worked there. Everything is out of a bag. Want two more eggs, lemmie squeeze the bag for two more seconds. Also, there was an obese woman who would get a large tomato basil soup from the Jefferson location...and drink it through a straw. Pretty sure there is videos of this somewhere.
