Rankings/polls are mostly bull shite but-

Many current NFL players were 3 stars or less on Rivals.

What criteria constiitutes a 4/5 star. Do they come from a bigger school/area? Tx/Cali?

Tyran Mathieu was a consensus 2 star. Just throwing that out there.

Yes, there are the great 2 and 3 star recruits. However, they are the exception to the rule. Perhaps the primary reason Bama is badass is because they load up on 4 and 5 star recruits. Period! If LSU ever starts to settle on predominantly 3 star recruits, then know that we will end up with 7 win seasons.

Chark was barely a 3 star and is probably the best athlete on the squad.

Several studies have shown that 5 star kids have a higher success rate than 4 and 4 stars have a higher success rate than 3. Etc. saying stars don't matter is just wrong.

This ends the "most NFL players are two or three star players" argument.

In Louisiana this year there are only 13 four or five star players... meanwhile there are 113 two and three star players.

Imagine there are a 100 players:
- 20 are four or five stars
- 80 are two or three stars

Now let's say 20 of the two and three stars get drafted, while only 10 of the four and five stars get drafted.

Sure, there were more twos and threes total... but overall only 25% of the them were drafted, while 50% of the fours and fives were drafted.

I hate when people spew shite. Tyrann was a 4 star, top 200 player.

Recruiting stars are for fans, not coaches. Our coaches should be evaluating players based on what they see, not recruiting stars.

Thank goodness it has happened again

Players usually lose a star once they commit to LSU and gain 2 stars once they commit to bama.

You "pumpers" really make me laugh. You are so transparent. Please quit trying to create justification for a lower ranked recruiting class. Y'all are just like the folks who are attempting to set LOWER expectations with wins/losses for next year.
Very transparent.

I don't recall if Tyrann was one for sure-- but I thought his star ranking was boosted from 3 to 4 stars AFTER LSU made the offer. I could be wrong on that.

TM7 got his 4th star eventually, yes, but he was a 3 star before he entered the Vols camp which was his recruiting breakout.
